Simple Directions to Find Deceased Relatives' Names for Temple Ordinances
When you are planning to go to the temple, Ordinances Ready is the easiest way to find and reserve names. It only takes a few minutes! Find Ordinances Ready on FamilySearch.org, or in your FamilySearch app, click on the temple icon to try it out.
It is so easy there is no reason to go to the temple without the names of deceased relatives to serve!
Search for FamilySearch Login on the Web
Login to FamilySearch (or register if not already registered. You will need your membership number which can be found on the Tools app)
Select the “Temple” tab at top center
Select “Ordinances Ready” from the drop-down menu
Select Male or Female
Select Ordinance Type of “Baptisms and Confirma+ons”-the program will then search first from any names you have already reserved in the past and then from your family tree. It will show you 4 names. You can take all 4 or select only those you wish to take. You can repeat for additional names.
After baptisms and confirmations have been completed at the temple, follow this same procedure to sequentially select the initiatory, endowment and sealing ordinances or ask the temple to return the name card after the current ordinance and reuse it.
If you take a few minutes and learn more about these relatives, you will feel closer to them as you do their work in the Temple
View Relationship button shows in an abbreviated family tree how you are related (Back Arrow takes you back to the list)
Learn About button opens a new tab on the browser showing all information that has been connected to that person
